A great little article today from the Hiawatha World Online about Brown County Genealogy. (Kansas)

In part: “Native to New York State, Joshua Bushnell came to Kansas in 1869 and settled on a quarter section of land near Capioma in Nemaha County, It was not very long after building his one-story adobe house, that he added additional acreage becoming a large land owner and stock-raiser. A circular barn he built measuring 36′ in diameter was most thought provoking and questioned many-a-mind of all thoughtful persons who passed by his farm.” Read the rest of the article here:
