New Series – Family Recipes

aunt helen's lime pickle recipe

In going through my mom’s old recipe box I realized just how many family recipes she collected over the years. Although some are from friends, many are from other family members. Today is the first in a new series of family recipes. After all, aren’t those old recipes a part of the family story?

This month’s pick is my Aunt Helen’s Lime Pickle recipe. I LOVE lime pickles and haven’t had any since leaving the Midwest back in the 70s. Of course, you know, now I’m ready to gather the ingredients and start making pickles! I have no idea where to get the lime, but I’m pretty sure my sister will know.

I hope you enjoy – and please feel free to share one of your favorite family recipes in the comments (below)

  1. I am just about to finish a two year project of making sure each of my daughters has a hand written copy of all of my recipes, my mother’s and my great grandmothers. It has been a labor of love.
