A Perfect Genealogy Day
On one of my genealogy trips I found the home where Jonathan and Mary lived, which is just across the road from the Shore Cemetery. Jonathan’s first wife was Frances Phillips, Mary’s twin sister.
Also – it was wonderful as I discovered that my grandfather was born in that house.
I’m fairly certain that one of my Shore distant cousins erected the tombstone for Jonathan and his wives as she was an avid genealogist and wrote a book about the Shore family. And, who but a genealogist would make sure all of the relevant genealogical information was engraved on the stone?
Here’s a photo of my sister, Vicki – on the right, and cousin, Peggy, taking a rubbing of the stone.
