Old City Cemetery Tallahassee Florida

The Old City Cemetery, located in downtown Tallahassee, Florida, is the oldest public burial ground in the city. It was established by the Territorial Legislature in 1829, with burials of early residents, Confederate soldiers, and victims of yellow fever. In the 1980s the cemetery was severely damaged by vandals; in 1991 restoration of the cemetery was begun.
